Daylight

Harry couldn't remember when he started talking to himself or nearby objects, but then again he didn't spend much time thinking about it either, he just did it.

After the commercials, the radio announcer came back on to talk to Harry. "There won't be any need for a raincoat today. The skies will be mostly cloudy this morning with increasing sun in the afternoon."

"Christ, why do they change physical science just to predict the weather? The sun doesn't increase dummy, it's always up there. It's the clouds that fade away."

The radio announcer apparently didn't hear Harry, for he continued to drone on as Harry left the bedroom.

"Good morning, kitchen."

The refrigerator seemed to respond as its motor, with a soft rumble, surged to full power, then settled down to a steady drone as it cooled the few items held within its embrace. Harry opened the door and pulled out one of those few items: a container of orange juice.

"Glass. I need a glass," Harry reminded himself as he reached toward a cabinet near the sink.

"You don't need a glass, the carton is almost empty. Just put the spout to your mouth and drain it."

Some time back, Harry had thought briefly about the debates he engaged in with himself, but decided he was not ready to get into an argument with himself over the issue.
